Dustin’s journey at Marlin began with a simple promise: trust. “I’ve been with Marlin for 15 years, and I really appreciate the trust they’ve given me to work hands-on with our customers every day,” he shares. That trust has empowered him to build lasting relationships and deliver solutions that make a real difference in the field.

🌾 Rooted in Practical Know-How

Dustin’s mechanical instincts and productivity mindset were forged early in life. “Growing up on a farm in Minnesota, I was constantly around machinery, animals, and crops, which gave me a strong understanding of how things work electrically, mechanically, and practically,” he explains. “When things broke, they had to be repaired quickly, so I learned how to diagnose problems and make efficient repairs to keep operations running smoothly. Productivity on the farm isn’t optional—it’s essential to success, and that mindset has carried over into how I approach my work today.”

What drives Dustin daily is the opportunity to tackle complex electronic challenges head-on. “I enjoy working hands-on in the field with a wide range of equipment and collaborating with our customers to solve their electronic challenges,” he says. Marlin’s supportive environment gives him the flexibility to thrive both professionally and personally—a balance he values deeply.

Dustin’s approach to customer service is rooted in partnership. “Customer visits vary depending on the reason for the visit but typically involve troubleshooting equipment to identify the root cause of a problem or complaint,” he explains. “We’ll operate the machine alongside the customer to duplicate the issue, then collaborate on implementing a solution. The fix could involve component changes, module design or updates, harness modifications, or process adjustments. Whatever the solution, we work closely with the customer through every step to ensure it’s implemented correctly and effectively.”

One unexpected revelation during his time at Marlin? Just how much he enjoys direct customer interaction. “Solving real-world electronic challenges and seeing the impact of our solutions firsthand” has become one of the most rewarding aspects of his role.

🏔 Life Beyond the Job

When he’s not troubleshooting in the field, Dustin is all about family and adventure. He spends his free time traveling, coaching his oldest son’s travel baseball team, and hitting the slopes during Wisconsin’s snowy winters.
